In addition to providing grants to artists and cultural organizations, the Arts Council also produces two signature events each year and manages a variety of special projects that support the creative community at large. These events provide unique opportunities for associate engagement and brand awareness while demonstrating your support for the arts. Below you can learn more about these Arts Council efforts and how they help make Columbus a vibrant place to live, work and play.

The Columbus Arts Festival is always looking for the right event partners and has so much to offer sponsors. As a business owner, your association with Ohio’s largest arts festival can help you reach and impact more than 500,000 diverse and culturally-savvy attendees and create brand experiences in a non-traditional way. And your donation as a business or individual helps support paying our performers and the infrastructure so critical to an outstanding festival experience for our artists and patrons. Since 1984, the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Community Arts Partnership Awards have recognized the community’s crucial contributions to the arts including financial support, non-cash contributions, volunteer involvement and board participation. Strong partnerships within the arts stimulate economic growth, promote the city’s revitalization, encourage tourism and enhance Columbus’ cultural image. The arts give life to the city. Your support will help us celebrate those who give life to the arts, each and every year.

Launched in 2015, Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art is a community-wide arts marketing campaign, crafted specifically to lift up the creative work of artists and help the public connect and engage with artists and arts organizations. Through a robust website, interactive event calendar, artist directory and public art database and dedicated marketing support, Columbus Makes Art is making Columbus known as a community that supports not just the arts but artists in all disciplines. Your support can help us tell the stories of more artists in our community and create unique content to engage the public. Public art is growing in popularity in our community and across the nation. When cities add public art, artists benefit. Artists also benefit when people find and enjoy their art. Two new resources developed by the Arts Council—the public art database and Columbus ArtWalks app—help people discover the public art in their neighborhood and beyond. These resources need financial support to further feature development and to support marketing them to the larger community.
