We know artists are the backbone of our creative community and we are committed to getting them the support they need to be successful. Explore the various ways we do that below and consider lending your support to artists today.

Here are just a few ways your support can impact artists in Columbus.

INDIVIDUALS

Larissa Boiwka, a local fashion designer, used grants funds to buy materials for a new period piece for her collection.

EMERGENCY FUNDS

During the COVID-19 pandemic, performing artist Marco Castro received funds to stay afloat after several of his shows were cancelled.

GROUPS

Honey and Blue used their Group grant funds to record and distribute their album “Bloom.”

INDIVIDUALS

When Christopher Leyva was penning a new play, he was awarded a grant to hire a dramaturg to help finish his work.

BIG IDEAS

Rodolfo Vazquez was awarded a Big Ideas grant to host a Latino Arts Weekend, hiring musicians, dancers, and poets to put on multiple free performances for the community in downtown Columbus.

FELLOWSHIPS

Artists grow their artistic and business skills through mentorship during the Lincoln Theatre Expand Your Horizons Incubation program. Shelbi Harris-Roseboro participated in 2016.

INDIVIDUALS

Filmmakers can use funds to edit their movies and submit them to film festivals, like Gabrielle Burton did in 2020.

RESIDENCIES & EXCHANGES

Melissa Vogley Woods had the experience of a lifetime going to Dresden, Germany as part of a Sister City artist exchange.
